Visit to Simulation Labs in La Spezia: Demonstration of Simulation Capabilities of NATO STO-CMRE

NATO STO-CMRE (former NURC) is actively involved in Visits to Simulation Labs organized by Genoa University, Perform, StelMilit and Simulation Team within SILENI initiative.

A special day, on the 28th of November 2012, was dedicated to Modeling & Simulation (M&S) activities centered in La Spezia, by involving both Industries (i.e. MBDA, Otomelara) and Excellence Centers in NATO.

This initiative is in the context of a series of actions for creating a fruitful cooperation between CMRE and  technicians/officers from other centers strongly interested in M&S such as the NATO M&S Center of Excellence (Rome, Italy) and CSSN/Italian Navy

The visiting team is currently enrolled in a Training Program on modeling and Simulation actively involved in Network and Cyber Defense Simulation, Virtual and Constructive Simulation Development as well as Weapon System Simulation.

During the visit to CMRE Alessandra Tesei and Alessandra Barbieri gave a talk on the role of CMRE in the context of GALA project.

Prof. Agostino Bruzzone, as organizer of this initiative, is currently active in developing the potential of Interoperable Simulation at CMRE, while several activities of the centers are presented as opportunities for future projects: Distributed Simulation and Networking,  Operative Relevance of Virtual Maritime Simulation, Verification/Validation and Accreditation (VV&A), Maritime Situation Awareness, Complex Cooperative Maritime Operations, Marine Environmental Modeling.
