The LAMAE-NCE/UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) has developed an artgame platform in order to investigate on the connection of cognitive gain, emotions and aesthetics.
Through the two last decades, scientific evidences has suggested the central role of unconscious thought process and perception in the creative solution of problems, more than the logical analysis of strategical logic challenges, as found in games. Following this possibility, the hypotesis that the emotional, affective and aesthetics influences lead to cognitive gain experimentally approached. To test it in a controlled form, an artgames platform – named F!T (made in the Clickteam Fusion 2.5 software) was built. The game objectives are left implicit, challenging the player’s exploration through a series of stages. The objective is to share with the visitors a research platform that mediates the rigidness of the method’s demands and the scientifical experimentation with the (relative) computational art’s esthetical fluidity around a logic-cognitive challenge system, made by the artgame design.
