Environmental Tectonics Corp (ETC), based in Southampton, PA (US), will provide an expanded version of its Advanced Disaster Management Simulator, which will feature port incidents and simulation systems. The new scenarios will satisfy requirements for training members of the Royal Netherlands Navy Fire Service. Other customized features will include emergency response vehicles and crews, fire fighting boats, and scenarios with chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives. There will also be training involving protesting crowds and suspicious packages in a port.
The Institute for Safety will use the simulation to train fire and rescue personnel for procedures at sea and in ports.
A similar version of ADMS was accepted by the RNLAF and will be used to train fire and rescue services personnel on air bases.
The system is designed with rapid authoring tools — some scenarios can be generated in as few as 15 minutes — to create new training courses and customized vehicles and characters.
